jzeth22063 Posted April 30, 2014 Report Posted April 30, 2014 Hey everyone. brand new to the forum, major respect to steve and all the other members. i've seen some real tallent on this site. i'm currently building a slot ported enclosure for 2 12's going in a 01 tahoe. i've built a few boxes in my time. every box that i built i've always placed the sub and port facing the rear. my question is.. what is the reasoning some people choose to build the subs facing up and port facing rear??? are there sq differences???Spl differences??? Pros & Cons??? my box volume is 5 cubes, port is center port 5 wide 14.75 tall and 23 deep. thanks any input would help
jzeth22063 Posted May 1, 2014 Author Report Posted May 1, 2014 am i asking a stupid question. ive searched alot on the site but really havent seen any hard evidence or reasoning with subs up port rear vs subs and port facing rear.
hispls Posted May 1, 2014 Report Posted May 1, 2014 You will need a meter and you will need to build both ways and test to see which is best in your application. I've seen both firing up and firing back subs give good results.
