Cruze2 Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 I'll give you all the info that I know of lol. I have a 2012 Cruze with the aftermarket pioneer speaker upgrade, it has a little amp for the 6*9 "subwoofers" in the rear deck. Now I'm only looking to upgrade the front door speakers and the two tweeters in the a pillar. I don't want to add an aftermarket hu, so my question is can I upgrade the speakers in the front doors and a pillars without adding a 4-channel amp and aftermarket hu? If so what do I need to run the new speakers? Thank you guys. I hope I made myself understandable. 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
Guest Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 you can replace the factory door speakers and use the old factory wiring and h/u, no problem. good luck
john253a Posted May 3, 2014 Report Posted May 3, 2014 Yes you can Just use a good quality comp And don't use something rated for 100rms+ because on your 15rms it will just be a waist and very quite
Cruze2 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 Okay thanks for the reply guys. I was looking into the Soundqubed speakers, but I'm not sure..what would you guys recommend? 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
Cruze2 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 Well, I really don't want to add a 4-chan amp..I just want a little better sounding speakers..I'd say my budget would be around $150. Since I have the pioneer speaker upgrade I have speakers in both the passenger side and driver side door, tweets in the a-pillars, and a speaker in the dash lol. I'd really just like to basically make them "plug-in-play" lol. 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
EP95 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Crutchfield says you got 6 3/4s in the doors, only good set within your budget that comes to mind are these Pioneers. Of course 6.5 will still work though Arc Audio Focal Helix
Cruze2 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 Lol I clicked the link and I put in my car info and they said they aren't compatiable with my car lol. Weird.. 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
EP95 Posted May 4, 2014 Report Posted May 4, 2014 Crutchfield does that all the time, specifically when I looked up your car it said the biggest that will fit was 6.75's. I guess chevy uses a weird size, but they'll work. edit, noticed you said sonic, but when I just use your car it says 6.75 in the front. weird nother edit. its not taking account of your stock tweeters so its saying that the components wont work, they just don't have full info.
Cruze2 Posted May 4, 2014 Author Report Posted May 4, 2014 Yeah Chevy is weird lol..would I just need a bracket to make the 6.5s fit? 2012 Chevrolet Cruze
