I keep hearing something about having an audi.... lol.

But really alot of teenagers my age really dont understand the value of a dollar.

Some of my friends have to pay for their own car, food and apartments.

I go to see my girlfriend on the weekends at her college and i see kids just throwing all the money away that there parents are spending on them. Bad grades or getting in actual legal trouble from doing stupid shit while drunk.

You just need to find the perfect way to balance what she should pay for and what she gets. if she has a job then imho she should pay insurance, gas, repairs. itll give her a good understanding of how to manage money and what she needs and wants for now.

What'd I say???

Seriously though, everyone here can see you're giving this girl a really square deal, and if I didn't think so I'd speak my mind. Just sounds like she's got a raging case of teenage butthurt and needs to build a bridge (to get over it.) My Dad didn't put up with any crap from me or my younger brother. He gave it to us straight, and always told us "My job isn't to make you happy, that's your job. My job is to teach you to take care of yourself." Same principle applies here; what would you be teaching her if you gave her everything she wanted without having to earn it?

I laughed when you said "walk you little shit" B/c that is ACTUALLY what I was thinking when she started getting an attitude. lol.

If she has no sense of ownership in the car, expect it to get destroyed. You cannot buy "her" a car and treat it like your toy. It won't work out. I also suggest just getting it to a fair conditon for when she is ready for it, meaning do not do one bit of upgrading to that ride. That is how it worked for me and my parents. They spent close to two grand on a older s-10 blazer for me when I was just past 17. I had to pay for all maint., gas, and insurance. I had ownership in that car and took fairly good care of it. When I took it and played in the snow with some friends and burnned up the brand new(less than 2 weeks old) clutch. I learned a valuable lesson (cost me $1200 in clutches in 2 weeks). A girl I went to high school with, by the time we graduated, had totaled 5 cars. One of which was her fathers 68 Jag. They just kept buying them for her and she just drove them like she stole them.
