Triple Monitor 2Way Crossfire Build (First Gaming Rig Ever)

Recommended Posts

So I finally finished this bitch. I work a 9-5 monday through friday, and on Tuesdays I also have business meetings for a personal business from 7-11 at night. SO it took my until yesterday to get everything working and playing. Everything is not 100% yet, I have yet to get 3DMark to do bench testing. I have done some bench testing with the stuff provided from the game called Shogun 2 Total War which put some good stress on my gear. Along with building this Gaming PC. I need to step up my mouse and keyboard game, was using a crappy wireless set up that would glitch out during gaming and get my killed quite frequently lmao. Went out and bought a nice mechanical keyboard and a bad ass optical wired mouse. For anyone that has not seen my other topic, I am putting this right here just incase if anyone asks down the line why I chose a few of the pieces I did because some already have. On this PC I have a 1300W PSU and a Mobo with 4 PCI-e slots. I have this so down the line when I want to upgrade my monitors to a 1440p surround, I can do it with only having to buy the monitors, and a extra GFX card. Instead of having to get a new mobo and PSU along with the GFX card and monitors. Enough talking though, here comes specs and build pics guys. Let me know what you think, let me know what you suggest too. I have never built a PC to this scale before so I am still somewhat a newbie.

Ram it up biatch!!!

20140519_200434_zpsc0fe0eb7.jpg

Heatsink on the CPU. Now I have built computers in the past, but for some reason. This time was nerve wrecking putting on this heatsink lmfao.

20140519_204019_zps5811cc20.jpg

Err thang is in

20140519_231044_zpsb63ffb8a.jpg

Dual GPU's stacked.

20140519_231050_zps2b263bd8.jpg

Fully together and running. Also, if you pay attention to the case while it's closed up, you can see the top part of the side panel isn't fully on. The CPU heatsink sticks out so far, that if I pres the side panel fully closed, the mounted on the CPU heatsink hit the side 200MM fan and stop it from moving. So until the water cooling kit comes in then it will stay like this.

TV is not functional yet. I need 1 more power cord slot availible for it, and I need a longer coaxial cable for my cable to reach to it.

Do 2 things for me please:

Spread the GPU's apart so there's a slot between them. It'll help the top card get more cool air and maintain it's boost clock easier.

Manage the cables behind the motherboard tray. It looks like a bomb went off in there. With a bit of effort you can clean up the whole inside and get better airflow for all of your components.

20131231_122800.jpg

wtf is lolcats?

I'd def get a fat hooker if i had to resort to that kinda thing. I feel like they'd be grateful and work harder. Also its more bang for my buck, more real estate for my dollar if you catch my drift. its like the Costco of streetwalkers.

I was hoping for 150 :(.

I was hoping she would let me put it in her butt

Step ahead of you, I didn't take any pics of it but I already dropped the second card down and noticed a 20C difference in the first cards temps. About the cable. All the ones that are seen, have to be, I have no way to make them go behind the board. They are either to big to fit through any of the holes, or either to short. Trust me, there's a SHIT ton behind the mobo, only a little is seen in front of it. When I go to try and mod the second fan to the top of the case, I will see if I can work something out to get more behind it, but I tried pretty hard with a lot of them.

Gotcha. Sounds good. I wound up grabbing cable extensions for a lot of things so that I had more slack to route the cables all around. The Phantom is a big case and sometimes the stock cables are just too short.

I was looking at doing that for my wires. This thing has barely been running for a week so there is still lots of tweaking to be had. Plan on starting my CPU OC this weekend. I know haswell chips aren't the best for OCing but I want to have some more power availible lol. The only real problem I have, the two cables coming from the top left of my mobo. Literaly have no spots for them to route behind the mobo other then directly on the right where everything is, which would still make it go over part of the mobo. I have a question for you though, The radiator for your water cooling, how is it mounted? I plan to run water at some point, and this case is BIG, but I just don't see how a radiator would fit, or even two.
