Looks like we will playing with 3500 watts now as opposed to the 5k we original planned, and thinking about putting a pair of Fi Q 12's in a 4th. If so, should we do the high qts option or not? I'm not too familiar with sub specs so if anybody could shed some light on this that would be great., and the math behind it please.

IMO, yes to the high QTS option. It's designed for optimizing around sealed boxes, which would be beneficial in a 4th order

Other option is you could do a 6th without the high QTS option. Just a thought

Hmmm 7 cuft may be a tad small for a 6th. I'll yield to the box designers on here though

Basically a 6th is a low tuned ported box firing into a high tuned ported box. Operated similar to a 4th, but the port in the rear chamber produces constructive interference, boosting output.

Just need to be careful of unloading since any bottoming out / mechanical noises will be difficult to hear

Honestly, that sounds a little out of my comfort zone to attempt on another persons vehicle. I think it would be smart for me to build a 4th first as they seem much less complex when compared to a 6th.

but ima have to try one of my own for sure.
