Put all the T/S parameters into WinISD and then mess with box volume, port size and tuning until you find a good response graph (Nice smooth curve with no peaks, and the point where it crosses the -3db mark should be in the lower frequencies ~30hz) that allows gives you the proper volume and port size you can make work. If i'm wrong with anything someone say something because i don't have a ton of experience! There are also a lot of helpful articles online for using WinISD!

You can also use the simple spreadsheet on DIYSUBWOOFERS.ORG in the ported section.

The first page of the spreedsheet allows you to put in the subs parameters and it calculates the ideal enclosure. Keep in mind it is the ideal enclosure in open air. In a car, you can shoot for a higher Q due to cabin gain. The spreadsheet can give you a volume/tuning based on a Q value you enter. Something between .8 and .9 works great in a car.

There are other tabs on the spreadsheet you can use to compare two different setups. You can compare 2 different boxes side by side to look at freq response, output for a given power applied (not very accurate due to cabin gain, but great for just comparing), and even excursion vs. frequency. Using this and the calculations based on different Q values, you should be able to come up with something that starts to roll off around 30 Hz with not too much peak (unless you want the high peak above tuning).

Current system:

1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s

Previous systems:

2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz.

1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
