Amps Hifonics Brutus BRZ series Hifonics Mt Olympus series Soundstream Rubicon series Soundstream Tarantula series Lanzar Opti series Does anyone have any thoughts, knowledge or other ideas for subs and amplifiers? I am trying to keep this a budget built, Trying to get the best bang for the buck so to speak. My primary concerns are sound quality and durability of the equipment. Thoughts, pros or cons anyone? Thank you in advance for any replies!!
RooTxBeeR Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 First thing is first, you can not have sound quality, and budget in the same mind. You can however, be on a budget and try to get the best sounding stuff you can get. May I ask first why you want to run your subs sealed? If you're looking for cheap subs, Skar audio is doing a clearance sale on all their old v1 products for dirt cheap. Ritch40 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Report Posted June 1, 2014 i prefer the smooth reponse curve that sealed encloseurs give. I also like the space saving aspects of running sealed. i will give you this, your right, budget and sound quality really shouldnt be in the same sentence with eachother...lol so you are correct, i am trying to put the best possible sound quality i can for what i am willing to spend.
Ritch40 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Report Posted June 1, 2014 Thanks for the heads up on the Skar clearence. i think i will stick with either nvx or soundstream for now though. unless someone can come up with something of higher quality in a price point of around $200 ea. I am hoping either way i go they are atleast as good as the old Soundstream SS12's i used to run 25 years ago
GSanders17 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Something to keep in mind several car audio brands aren't what they once were, soundstream being one of them.

They also have a bunch of 10" vvx for sale for 100 a piece and can take 750 all day. I was looking at grabbing a few of their IVX ones for 50-60 a piece then selling them to some friends out here for a few bucks more. Check out other companies on this site, DC sound labs, Sundown Audio, Incriminator Audio, Digital Designs, Ascendant Audio or only a few. RooTxBeeR Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 Can't believe I forgot my favorite budget brand. Sound Qubed. I feel like they are one of the best companies out there. They produce damn good quality for such an amazing price. People left and right compete with their gear and they get beatings lol.
