Does the enclosure seem to big? Alpine Type R 12.

Sub: Alpine Type R 12" 1224D old model.

Amp: TBD. 450-750rms

Will this box be to big? You can see most of the dimensions in the image.

the tuning is off.. its more like 33hz and 4.29 ft3

yes.. i would use 15 in that box

By roughly double.

I want it to be loud and low. I know Alpine recommends 1.5 - 2 I think but what do you guys think?

You will just mess up your sub with that space. Big does not necessarily mean louder and low cause there are alot of other factors to look at too. Do recommended or get two subs and put in that same box.

No. I not asking why. I'm saying I want loud and low. What is recommend? Like I said Alpine recommends 1.5 - 2. What would I do to get loud & low?

At that size, the power handling of the sub would be dramatically reduced, the sub may well perform much like it were in an infinite baffle.

Good point.

I also designed one that I will double check with Torres Calculator but is supposed to be 2.3ft3 and tuned to 32hzs. How do you guys think that would run? I can post pictures if wanted
