morphey86 Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 So ive got a single Soundqubed HDC4 15 dual 1 ohm and Im considering the Q1-3500.1D running at .5 ohm. Any opinions on whether im trying to do too much power or could do more? I am going to be running this woofer in a civic hatchback for competition only. No daily driving at all

truthsayer Posted June 18, 2014 Report Posted June 18, 2014 Without getting into a long drawn out explanation. Yes the gain is meant to match the HU voltage. However if you set the gain lower than that matched voltage, you will not be putting out the amps full power. truthsayer

Damn guys looks like we've been doing it wrong the whole time. Always keep your gains set at the lowest setting because it'll still be putting out it's "specific wattage" no matter what On a serious note, that sub will take that power from that amp like a champ. As long as you can support it running at .5 and make sure it's a clean signal
