Hi everyone i need some help with my trunk box i running 2 10" Alpines Type S' with a Pioneer GM-D9601 down to 1 ohm, I've designed 3 boxes and am not sure if one will work well as the subs face each other on an angle.

Box 1

https://www.dropbox.com/s/y6u1ytq00g5p1f5/Sub%20Box%201.png

Box Specs: 2.76 cubic feet (after displacement), tuned to 36-37 Hz (6" x 16" port 10" of the port is external so only 6" in the box)

This box i was tying to see if i could use the ski hole for the back seats only the middle goes down :(

Box 2

https://www.dropbox.com/s/3txc7rpzw5cuj28/Sub%20Box.png

Box Specs: 3.07 cubic feet (after displacement), tuned to 36-37 Hz (6" x 14" port)

Box 3

https://www.dropbox.com/s/x5s1x1r1ujlfmtr/Sub%20Box%202.png

Box Spec: 2.85 cubic feet (after displacement), tuned to 29-30 Hz (6" x 26" side ported)

Would the first box work or would i get some cancellation as some people say yes and some say no?

Would the side ported box be better for SPL over the front ported?

Also Box 2 and 3 will be facing away from the front of the car.

Max dimensions of the trunk i can use while still putting stuff in there is 12" High, 32" Wide, 25" Deep if anyone has any better boxes id be happy to listen.

Sorry about the long post lol

What vehicle are the going in? I'd go w/ standing subs/port facing the rear in a trunk car, always depending on model but is general rule of thumb w/o testing to see if other port locations would work better. But for those subs i'd definitely go that route(#2 i believe it was).

Here is a suggestion done on your second box style, power: to 600 W per driver, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, port clearance 4", figure is just an assembly guide:

NOTE: If building outside you need to build a cardboard dummy box to test fit in it's way inside.

TDZ13 the car is a Holden VS Statesman, only came out in Australia (i think).

Joe X Is there an advantage for output by using slot port compared to round port? Always wanted to do one but i would rather do one with better subs, and i kinda need a 6" round port as I've already bought it (didn't think it through much lol) but thanks for the suggestion, you wouldn't happen to know if Box 1 would have any advantages or disadvantages compared to the other box's?

Thanks for the help

Round ports are good for reducing box size and to retune the box relatively easier than slots, if the slot port has enough area it will produce similar results than a round port.

If you were to use a round port it may need to be installed partially external depending on tuning.

Ok ive done a bit of research on 4th order boxes that my head hurts from designing this box lol and hopefully this is correct

sealed portion of the box is 1.03 cubes after displacement and the ported side is 2.75 cubes with a 10"x10"x10" port tuned to 71Hz with about 36 Sq inches per cube is that too much or too little?

According to specification sheet for the recommended sealed box it says that F3 is 54Hz is that normal?
