His reason for the thread is that he wanted more power, period. So, finding out if he had a quality amp instead of junk equipment is a pretty reasonable question. He could be looking for 3.5k/7.0k, when in reality he may have been using an amp to begin with that put out nowhere near that, and adding another sub-par amp strapped wouldn't be ideal. Upgrading to one that does rated would. You can quote and try to argue it all you want, but it all comes down to him wanting more power to drive the woofers. Unless you sit down and rate the amp yourself you wont know the power. Just cause one CT 2500 can hit 3900 doesn't mean they all will. I think you are missing the point. Unless he's asking if his amp is a true 3.5k you are just throwing answers out there that sound good. If he had said he was using a Boss, power acoustik, walmart special and wanted more power and was asking about getting another and strapping them then I would hope your suggestion wouldn't remain to even look at strapping. That is the entire point of checking the equipment. Period. Hardly see how asking the equipment for that reason is a post to sound good. However, your post..... Let's see.... those amps look solid. If he asked if it was strappable I would look to see if it is. If he asked if his amp puts out rated power I would see what others came up with.

Once again, Your statement is as if nobody ever comes on these forums saying they have a 5k amp, which turns out to actually put out 1k as an example. OP was saying that his drivers were wanting more power. So a quick and easy question to ask is what amp he was using, in turn to find out if it would actually put out power, or extremely over rated. Also, allows to find out if it is capable of being strapped. It eliminates many questions just by asking the equipment. So no, asking the equipment is not a bad question... In ANY situation. That's my last post, if you can't understand the reasoning then that's your fault.
