somebodyelse
Hi All, I am working on a custom bike, I have built most of the parts myself, its a pretty sweet build. I know metal work and fab but am lost with painting past aeresol lol. I have this cool idea for the wheels but dont know how to make it happen. I want a deep glossy electric blue color that seems to reflect shades of violet at some angles. I imagine I am asking for candy, but am not sure. I know candy has lots of options to do this with base coat colors and pearls and so on. I am guessing here but i think I have 2 options. 1) Spray a Metallic silver base Followed by a solid royal or electric blue candy. and on top of that doing a clear with purple and or red pearls. 2) Spray a metallic HOT bright violet as a base coat and mid coat solid blue candy on top until violet becomes un noticeabe. This is almost exactly what I want but with thos purple sidetones a little more flashy and less subtle. http://www.hdwheels.com/images/40-60_Spoke/Wheel60High/15x7%2060%20Spoke%20Candy%20Blue%20Hub%20and%20Rim%20Tubeless.jpg Thanks in advance for reading! truthsayer
I would do a pear white base to get the affect you are going for. truthsayer
somebodyelse
I would do a pear white base to get the affect you are going for. Ok, so Pearl* White base and a Candy blue mid coat followed by clear, no pearls or metallic flakes or chameleons in midcoat then I assume. Awesome I will give that a try thanks
Airborne
silver base, flake in HOC intercoat, candy in the same intercoat, several coats of clear. If you can time the flash you can spray it all in one day. Then cure, cut and buff
