mrazandrewm
I will be building my full system in the upcoming months in my '13 F150 Supercab. I have decided to use the SA6.5cs for the front stage powered by a Soundstream PN2.350D 2 channel amplifier. I was contemplating on running the neo pro 6.5 v2 in the rear doors but decided against it. As for the substage, I'm going to use 1 SA8v2 D2 on a Soundstream P1.1000D mono amplifier at 1 ohm. I will however, run the subwoofer at 4 ohms for a minimum of 2 hours before running it at a 1 ohm load. The enclosure will be built under the rear bench seat (very tight and very small without a seatlift). The final enclosure volume will be 0.68ft^3 tuned to 34Hz with the subwoofer inverted. I do have a couple of questions regarding 1) the enclosure size compared to the power I'm going to be running the subwoofer and 2) the port area of the enclosure. 1a) Is the enclosure "small" enough to offset the 1000 watts rms I'll be sending to the subwoofer? 1b) Do you guys think I should make the enclosure smaller to help control the subwoofer better or is it fine where it's at? 2) My port is 4.5" x 3.25" with a port area of ~14.63in^2. Is my port area enough to have minimal to no port noise? Thanks for reading this and hopefully you can lend me some good advise!!! MrSkippyJ
Hopefully someone can help with your questions, I won't be much help there. I do have a question for you though. Why are you running the subwoofer at 4 ohms first? mrazandrewm
Just to break in the subwoofer and loosen up the suspension a bit. MrSkippyJ
Ah. best way to loosen it up is to play it loud It won't break in fully until you actually play it fully. No reason to start at 4ohms, don't deprive yourself of bass!!
