Ritch40 Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 i have been noticing on many builds that the subs for example may face up but the port exits on a 90 degree angle to the subs. is there any advantage to this? is it a bad thing to have the port and the subs facing forward for example? just trying to learn what i can to make my own system(s) the very best that they can be. Thanks for any information and advice!

DaPlague Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 as long as the port adds up to the measurements in most cases shouldnt make a difference 08 mercury milan 4x FOSGATE R1S4 1X RE AUDIO CTX 3200.1 138DB SEALED 141 OTHERWISE
OrionStang Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 as long as the port adds up to the measurements in most cases shouldnt make a difference So you're saying, in a trunk setup for example, subs up port back is going to sound the same as subs and port both forward? As long as measurements are the same? I don't think so, bro. What vehicle do you have OP? SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

"in most cases" trunk is port and sub facing back hatch is both up and wall is both forward sometimes you see sub up port forward which is also good or trunks sorry i didnt specify there are so many different ways you can mount it and port it its easier to sometimes go off general rule of thumb. 08 mercury milan 4x FOSGATE R1S4 1X RE AUDIO CTX 3200.1 138DB SEALED 141 OTHERWISE

Like I said, depends on the vehicle. Most the loud trunks you'll see here are port and sub forward. I know you love your setup, but you still have a bunch to learn.
