Taurus Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Hi all, I have a 340Amp Mechman Alternator installed in my car ( Toyota NZE121) . At 800RPM it produces around 140amps, 340amps are produced around 2000RMP. Countless times I have increased the idle to around 1500Rmp by turning the screw on the throttle body in order to get a decent output from the alternator; however after driving the car for couple hours shutting down and powering back up the idle always re-adjust itself to the default setting, just under 1000RPM. The screw stays where i set it, no matter where the idle screw is positioned the car always re-adjust the rpm Can someone please advise me as to what I need to do for the idle to stay at 1500RPM? Thank you all in advance.
truthsayer Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Not sure why you started another thread asking the exact same question. Not a good idea. But you will have to do it trough the computer. And a shop might not even do it for you. The would most likely not want to be responsible for various bad outcomes. So in this thread you will keep seeing the same answers you already got. truthsayer

Taurus Posted July 9, 2014 Author Report Posted July 9, 2014 Can you please advise me how I can make the changes in the computer and what is needed to do so?
martydmb Posted July 9, 2014 Report Posted July 9, 2014 My magum idled at 500rpm stock... mechman said to atleast get it to 800. I bought a diablosport intune for my car which adjusts alot of the ecu. I paid like $400 for it. Look for a tuner shop they will be able to do it for a fee or buy a tuner. If they make one for your car. 05 dodge magnum rt DEH-80PRS Rockford fosgate T600.4 st200 tweeters Sundown Neo Pro 6.5 v2's 2 Saz-3500v2- Toolmaker dual 1/0 inputs 2 Sundown ZV4 12" D1 1/0 Sky High Power wire OFC 3 XS D3100- Toolmaker battery terminals Mechman 320 Amp Alt Smd Voltmeter KnuKoncept 1/0 OFC
nadcicle Posted July 10, 2014 Report Posted July 10, 2014 Can look in to fitting a smaller pulley on as well.
