geekybasshead98
I'm looking to upgrade my mid-high stage in my garage system. Looking to get a new 4ch and build a nice set of speakers. If I get a set of comps, what power could I feed them without burning up the tweeter/speaker? Here is a set that looks good. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROCKFORD-FOSGATE-R152-S-5-1-4-2-Way-PRIME-COMPONENT-SPEAKER-SYSTEM-5-25-R152S-/360882146808?pt=Car_Speakers&hash=item5406408df8 & http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROCKFORD-FOSGATE-R300X4-Prime-300-Watt-4-Channel-Amplifier-New-With-Warranty-/331211178784?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item4d1db98320 Also, Should I make the box out of MDF or would plywood work? The only reason I ask that is because I have a sheet of plywood 1/2" pine in the garage already. OrionStang
Two sets of those components would be fine on that amp. If you are asking about running them active, not worth it IMO. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

What do you mean by "active"? Pioneer DEH-X6600BT (1) Rockford Fosgate R1200-1D (1) Alpine 1242D 12" Type R ported 32-35hz
OrionStang
If you don't know, you're not ready for it. LOL Get two sets and that amp and you'll be happy. Look up active and passive crossovers. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang
Passive crossovers are the ones that come with components, like the ones you pictured. They have set crossover points. When you run active, you leave those out and control the crossover points either through the head unit, the amp, or a processor. Not all head units and amps have the crossover range needed to properly cross mids and highs. Thats the short version. Now get to studying.
