snooketcher
Try throwing some bricks or 2x4 pieces in the box to take up some airspace until you reach the sound characteristic you desire. Then pull them out measure them and determine how much airspace they have displaced and modify or rebuild your box. If that doesn't work for you try ported. Maybe it's just not for you all together, I've had multiple setups I was really never happy with no matter what box, power or location in the vehicle, it just happens sometimes. You'll gain some great experience in the meantime! Good luck!
TeamHT
I'd be very curious to look at the voicecoil configuration and wiring, and if gains were set correctly. Too often I see subs wired too low, and people blame it on sub performance. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
SofaKing
OP.... have you thought of sending an email to Sundown? When I spoke with them they recommend .25^3 ft for the SD-2 8, and each driver should have it's own sealed enclosure. IE 1 box, 3 drivers, 3 .25^3 ft sealed chambers. Just a thought.
