Ritch40 Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 I am trying to help a friend out with a design for 4 obsidian 12" ported. vehicle is a 2004 dodge ram extended cab (not the quad cab) 4 door. max dimensions (with back seat removed) are 64" long 25" tall 24" deep dimensions used in sketch-up are 64" long H1= 25" H2= 20" 18" deep (to give 6" or so of clearance in front of the port.) the subs will be pointing up and the port forward. the design i came up with calls for a port opening of 18" x 8" 46" long. tuned to 28Hz(according to winISD) this will have to be a "T" shaped port. Here is where my questions start coming in. you will note on the drawing that i do have the 8" wide opening coming out the front. i did cut that to 4" going each direction along the back wall. Is that the right way to do that? Or do i need to maintain the 8" wide? Please feel free to give me an education on this. And before anyone does point it out, yes i don't have bracing into Torres yet. Also, in the drawing there are details not yet shown. the reason for that is you would not be able to see whats going on if those pieces were in place. Thank You in advance for any suggestions, ideas, knowledge and help!!
brent379 Posted July 26, 2014 Report Posted July 26, 2014 you did it right. you split the port area in half where it tees off. nice design btw!!! little jealous because i absolutely suck with google sketch up haha
