dangaranga Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 My two C2 audio Team 1k 12's finally came in a couple weeks ago. Built a 3.9 cu ft net box for them with a hair over 12 in of port per foot. I cleaned up the wire after this pic at first i only had my audiopipe 1500 to power them, in my haste to rush and install the subs when they arrived, i accidentally wired them to .25 ohm. It took a little bit to figure out why the amp would protect when cranked and get pretty hot after like 10 min. Once i realized what i had done, i immediately pulled a sub and rewired to 1 ohm. which brings me to this video. this amp barely even tickled the subs. then on friday i picked up an american bass vfl 120.1. i wired to 1 ohm, and the subs started to move some air. Yesterday, for the park and pound i wired down to .25 ohm. I was able to stay in mid 12s full tilt for a solid song and the voltage would bounce back very quickly. I have a juice box black cherry (120 ah) in the back and i swapped to a 140 amp alt. I need more power, the subs laughed at the american bass at .25. i demo'd for a few hours on and off allowing the amp to cool and the subs never got more than about 15 degrees above ambient. I put it back at 1 ohm for daily and it just isnt the same. I miss the power, i see a second 120.1 in the (very) distant future. I will be picking up dual 1/0 inputs for the amp at some point. And i have been running .25 ohm daily for several weeks now with nary an issue.
