Syphlyn Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 Got myself a SAZ-2000D. Never had an amp with a sub sonic dial, previously it was just built in and the LPF had markings like 40/60/80/100/120. The new amp just has 10hz-60hz for the SSF and 35hz-300hz for the LPF. How do I set these properly and accurately? Do I just do it by ear until it sounds good? Nobody can really tell you exactly what your settings should be, especially LPF and HPF, It's more of your preference in music and how low your box and system can go. If you would like an example though: my LPF is at around 34hz and HPF 80 . Everybody's setups will have their own unique settings. That would mean your sub only plays below 34 hz, unless you mean sub sonic filter. My question is more on how to set the dials properly as it's hard to determine where they are... I apologize, not even sure how my mind got into thinking of HPF lol. But my LPF is 80hz and my Infrasonic filter is at 34hz. I'm also slightly confused about what you're trying to actually ask. If you are asking how to find exact numbers on your settings that aren't actually marked, it all comes down to math. My amp, for instance, has 2 markers per setting. My SSF only has 15hz (lowest) and 40hz (highest). If I want to put my amp at 1/4 of the SSF setting, I would simply add the highest and lowest (15+40) then divide that by two (55/2) to get the half mark (27.5). Then, add that value with the lowest value marked (15+27.5) and divide it by 2 (42.5/2) to get your quarter mark, which in my case is 21.25. I apologize if that's confusing and/or not what you're asking, but that is how I deciphered it lol Current Setup: 2002 Ford Focus SE (stock electrical) -Kenwood Excelon KDC-X397 -Infinity Kappa 6x9's in each door -Rockford Fosgate Prime R1200-1D -2 12" Rockford Fosgate P3D2 Backups: -12" Power Acoustik Mofo-122X in 36hz T-Line box -Soundstream Piasso P1.1200D

I'll use that method to get close to where I think it should be then fine tune it from there by preference. dawgs007 Posted August 21, 2014 Report Posted August 21, 2014 That's how i've been doing it. As far as I know, there's no real solution for a true number. If somebody has a way, I'm sure they'll chime in.
