dawgs007 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I understand I'm in the wrong section of the forums. I had a post earlier but it was answered so I thought I would "recycle" my post rather than spam it elsewhere. If a mod wants to move it, please do! But, has anyone on the forums had experience with Obsidian subwoofers? I have the opportunity to buy a single 15" in custom ported box. I would like to know if they're decent quality subs for SPL on approx. 1200w. ZAPCO209 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I have two 18s and i like them, they play low and hit hard. I dont think u will get a lot of spl out of them more of a musical sub. THE DRIVING FORCE

Seems like they don't require much power for being a 15". ZAPCO209 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 I ment spl for competing, the definitely get loud. When i think of spl subs i think of 3 or 4 inch coils that can handle many thousand watts. THE DRIVING FORCE

Phaeton Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 i was thinking about buying some 18's from them, but they where quite rude, plus the customer support wasnt the best. I asked how much power can their subs handle realisticly, they said 600. i replyed with if i gave it 601 watts, it would blow? answer? yes. dawgs007 Posted August 24, 2014 Author Report Posted August 24, 2014 they get loud easy So 1200w should really get it going? Obviously I won't go full bore on a ~600w sub but it should really move it.
