Phaeton
I just did a search on google and it said that volts squared divided by impendence is a pretty close ballpark number..... and you say its not even close.... I don't understand so 60 x 60 = 3600 3600/2 =1800 watts roughly supposedly how can u be sure im not even getting 1000rms volts * amps = watts. 12*60=720 watts 14*60=840 watts minus about 20% because you arent totally efficent. your doing 600 watts with a 60 amp fuse. you do 1000 watts with a 100 amp fuse. You just need to stop and listen for a moment. We are correct and you are not. Volts * amps = wattage ONLY when dealing with direct current. speakers work off of alternating current. there for with an ac system volts * amps = Volt amps or VA for short. volts * amps apply to anything bro. ac/dc 1997 subaru legacy outback Four 15's in a almost wall Rockford Fosgate t2500-1bdcp Rockford Fosgate T400-4 on tweets Rockford Fosgate T400-4 on highs Rockford Fosgate T400-2 on midrange Rockford Fosgate T400-2 on midbass Optima Yellow top batteries 270A Singer alt (working on a bracket for a second) Lots of Second Skin
Ritch40
not true. It works accurately for dc circuits but not ac circuits. the main reason for this is explained in a video posted to this thread by Tron. it has to do with not knowing the power factor with ac which can only be measured by an oscope. that said, SMD does manufacture a few tools that do measure it and give accurate wattage. fufhubbin
but you are basing that on testing with tons of variables... and if what you say is true, why do my 2 8s play down to 30hz without an issue? why did my 12s in my Scion play double bass drums and upright bass without issues? It's not personal taste, it's fact. What about SQ cars with 15s in infinite baffles? I mean if only they knew that 15s couldn't play "tight" bass... http://tinypic.com/r/2jdiera/8 NEW BOX BUILD 2.4 cubic feet before port or woofer displacement roughly 2.0 after 34 hz ........my orion hcca 10.4 FS rating is 44hz! i hope it still sounds fine Giving this bitch 24 hours to dry ordered the 0 gauge with a 250 amp fuse hope this lets me turn the amp up! also ordered a dash mountable volt meter so i can keep an eye on that stock battery does anyone else use them?
