TRON Posted September 18, 2014 Report Posted September 18, 2014 when you do isobaric you do a push pull polarity setup so when one pushes out the other moves with it... if you wire it so they fight they would cancel out.... just thought I would mention this since no body answered your question.... taking others trial and error will help alot with design failures but sometimes you find an anomaly in where it worked for you...still to this day people argue about what way to face a sub in a trunk ive done it every way and depending on how free the air moves the bass curve develops differently.... personally speaking if I was to do a 4 12" setup in a trunk I would look in to either a sealed ported combo or 2 different sized ported boxes one for spl and one for tighter bass.... this way your passband will be wider if you are looking for all around music.... maybe tune one for 28-32hz and one for 35-40hz Wut. passband wut Avalanche Alpine Type S comps Alpine Type S 10'' Alpine MPR-F300 Alpine MRX-M50 Mechamn 270 XS Power d3400s
T2bumper Posted September 18, 2014 Author Report Posted September 18, 2014 I can't say without drawing a diagram, but it could get confusing with dual voice coils. Say if you had two single four ohm woofers...you'd wire one to the amplifier in polarity (+ to + and - to-) and the second in revers (+ to - and - to +) you'll still have a two ohm load, but the reversed woofer is out of phase. Thanks I just didn't get that. Step 2: Don't copy unless you know why he did it that way and unless you have all of the same reasons and specifications (chances are it won't be exactly the same so changes will need to be made) Step 3: Understand what the advantages and disadvantages of each alignment are. Step 0 : Listen to some people. Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
