need help with a box design

I had a cheap 12" sub i was given that finally blew, i'm looking to replace it with a single 10" american bass xfl1044 and run it on 1k rms (http://www.americanbassusa.com/product.detail/product_id/158) I have no idea on what volume the box should be or the frequency, i'd like to make something ported from what i've read, i'm not very knowledgable about this stuff so any help would be great

amp is not too grea, its a quantum audio 2000w (http://www.soundwavesmi.com/products/Quantum-%28QCA4000D%29-Audio-Cozmik-Class-AB-Amplifier.html) i was advised to wire the sub at at 2ohms and i'll only be using half of the 2000w. i drive a 2009 honda fit so size isn't really a restriction. i listen to rap, rock and some heavy metal, i loved the deep bass of my old twelve inch but it was terrible for any mid range or quick bass hits, i'm not expecting amazing quality given my amp but i'd like a more balanced subwoofer than just excelling in the low ends

Your amp is not great and it's not rated RMS, maybe it will deliver 800W RMS @ 2 ohm, if you haven't bought the sub I would recommend to move to a 12" for increased efficiency, anyways here is a suggestion for the 10" everything firing back, power: to sub rated, amp subsonic filter to 28Hz, minimum port clearance 1 7/8", figure is just an assembly guide:

I haven't bought the sub yet, its still a month down the line, what suggestions would you have for a 12" setup with a budget of around $100-$150 for the woofer alone?
