skinnarbox Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 Good Evening, I have my first major build coming in a few weeks. I plan on posting the whole deal step by step. Execution Audio Big 3, XS Power D4800, Execution Audio 0/1 line thru, Crescendo Audio Mezzo Components front, CZ Rear, CT Sounds 1400.1, 3 x Sundown SA 8 v2, Custom Box, Kenwood DNX 691hd, Maxxlink Deadening, Mosconi 4 to 6 DSP....in a 2014 VW GTI. Taking some time off work for the build, going to have my own build thread finally (bucket list thing, you guys understand) Hopefully this post is in the right place. The amp setup that I am going to use is a little different, and I have looked up and looked through and located a pretty helpful guide on here about fusing. I would just like to double check so as to not set my car on fire I will be using a JL Audio HD 900/5 in 4 channel mode to push my components. As previously mentioned, the CT Sounds 1400.1 for the subs. My question is about fusing. I was going to use a non fused distribution block, one from Rockford Fosgate. 300 Amp ANL at the battery. After the block, 4 gauge wire to the JL, a 70 amp inline fuse for the JL amp, will I need an in-line after the block for the CT Sounds amp as well, or would the amp on the battery be sufficient? So thats 0/1 gauge from the battery and 300 amp ANL fuse to the non fused distribution block, 4 gauge at the block to 70 amp fuse to the JL, 0 gauge from the block to the CT Sounds amp. I hope I have explained this sufficiently, and have posted this in the right place. Thank you to the community for your assistance, I am likely worrying too much, but would like to protect my equipment. Also, without my constant fiendishly obsessing on these forums, I wouldnt be undertaking this awesome venture. Thank you all very much. O
SIDE SHOW Posted October 1, 2014 Report Posted October 1, 2014 fuse close to the battery as possible, and near your amps, each amp will need it own fuse.
skinnarbox Posted October 1, 2014 Author Report Posted October 1, 2014 fuse close to the battery as possible, and near your amps, each amp will need it own fuse. Thank you for your response, how large of a fuse should I use for the CT Sounds Amp?
