Unless the radial caps are very securely soldered to the board, they can wiggle and weaken the solder joint or the leads. It's just to hold the caps in place. Electrolyte is a dark, oily substance with a distinctive smell. You'd know it if they vented. The bottom of the cap would push up and the top would be bulged and vented. You're good!
