Bump4life
get the SSD you dont have to get a big one. get one like 32gb to run your operating system and use the old one to save things 32gb could fit the operating system but wont run it well. if you have anything to say in the ram department your page file will fill that ssd up and youll be slow again. still faster than a traditional harddrive but your cpu will be working. i reccommend putting operating system on at least 50gb. i partition my drive and the os and programs has 150 gb. this allows all programs to run smmothly without being fragmented on the drive. granted i do have 16 gb of ram in my laptop. and itunes backup on my c with my 128 gb iphone. get the SSD you dont have to get a big one. get one like 32gb to run your operating system and use the old one to save things already ordered the intel 480GB one your gunna love it. MaxMays
get the SSD you dont have to get a big one. get one like 32gb to run your operating system and use the old one to save things 32gb is nothing. At minimum you will need 60gb's, unless you're a master at always directing where files are saved. More times than not applications will find ways to save on to the local drive, and over time you will have several apps saved onto your drive meant only for the OS and you will be shuffling to relocate programs to keep cached space available. Your best option is to get a 60-1200gb ssd for primary applications, and a terabyte drive for storage. This way you don't have to constantly combat with relocating application every month. I've been through it, not worth the headache! There are probably really good sales going on this week for terabyte drives, Most likely you will be able to find a decent WD/Hitachi 1-3TB drive for under 60bucks. Jerry Fang
For OS only, I recommend getting 2 SSD in raid 0. Speed is phenomenon. I had 2x Corsair 60gb SSD in Raid 0 and I can't see myself running traditional hdd as an OS drive anymore. For storage, I recommend the 1TB Western Digital V-Rap. SSD+10Krpm= nice pairs. But that just me.
