dl9890 Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Would a kicker DX1000.1 on a single 12" SA sundown sub be okay? Obviously if the gains and everything are properly set the sub would be okay on 1,000rms? I've seen people put 1500-2000 on these. Just a question,
SIDE SHOW Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 yeah it'll sit on it okay, but if you try and play the sub while it's on it, the amp will just fall off... (sorry jus being smart) whats the rms of the sub? I suggest running it at that pwr.... most decent subs can take more pwr than recommended if setup correctly.
dl9890 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 SA 12 - 600 rms & DX1000.1 is rated at somethin like 1,057 RMS.I just heard the only reason they underrate the SA is for cheaper warranty purposes or something
SIDE SHOW Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 is your SA12 wired to 2 ohm or 4 ohm final load?
SIDE SHOW Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 at 4 ohm your underpowering the sub, and 2 ohm your pver powering the sub... I would suggest overpwring it rather than underpwring it but make sure you set everything up correctly and don't be a dick with the volume knobs and it'll b fine
dl9890 Posted December 1, 2014 Author Report Posted December 1, 2014 It's at 2 ohms, the dx1000 is 1000rms @ 2ohms
