chris j m
hi guys , recently when I go to play music my subs wont work at first , but after a few minutes I can hear the bass cutting in and out then plays normally ... I was wondering wether the cold weather could be seizing up the subs ? im in the uk and its around 1 or 2 degrees at the moment. if that's not likely, what else could it be ? I have 2 hdc12's running off a rf t2500 . thanks in advance
Aj11
cold shouldn't effect it. but I'd say check grounds and check all connections. also what's your voltage like when this happens? jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
RainStryke
It could also be your head unit.
Aj11
we've had the "does cold effect your system" question asked enough to know that it doesn't. Do you have a LOC? because those things suck and always cause issues jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
chris j m
voltage is around 14.6 . all my amps are grounded to my rear battery , then the battery is grounded to my chassis . I could try changing the ground point ... at the moment it is grounded to a bit of sheet metal which is welded to the chassis . what about the headunit ? loose ground ? also I don't have an loc. cheers
rockFord_Expedition
If your head unit had a loose ground it would shut off Does it? What is powering your inside speakers? HU or amp? Do they stay on regardless? Its either signal or power so check everything. How and where are you taking your voltage reading from? Make sure your remote wire isn't pinched, so check the voltage of that to and make sure it isnt your problem. When you check your RCA's dont remove or install them while your system is on. chris j m
the head unit doesn't turn off at all , im running my mids and highs off 2 different amps , and yeah they stay on . ive got stinger volt meters ( not the best I know ) , one reading my back battery and one at the t2500, but I regulary check the voltage on my batterys with my multimeter and it is 14.4 - 14.6 . the t2500 always stays on as well. I should mention that I bought the amp knowing it was broken ( 100 quid was a steal ) and got it repaired . all the power supply fets were blown plus one bank of outputs were dead , got fully repaired with a new bd driver card as well . it is still under warranty . il check what you mentioned as soon as I can , thanks
rockFord_Expedition
Ok so you lose bass output but amp stays on. Check your RCA signal and your speaker wire connection even inside your enclosure, all the way from amp to subs. chris j m
thanks for the replys , all my connections are soldered and heatshrinked , direct leads from the subs soldered to 8 gauge which goes straight to the amp . each sub reads 2 ohms . parrelleled at the amp to 1 ohm . is there a better way of checking things or am I best off just redoing all the wires and see if that fixes it ? I will check to see if the rca's are damaged at all , how can I check that the signal is coming through using my multimeter ? thanks guys
