rockFord_Expedition
thanks for the replys , all my connections are soldered and heatshrinked , direct leads from the subs soldered to 8 gauge which goes straight to the amp . each sub reads 2 ohms . parrelleled at the amp to 1 ohm . is there a better way of checking things or am I best off just redoing all the wires and see if that fixes it ? I will check to see if the rca's are damaged at all , how can I check that the signal is coming through using my multimeter ? thanks guys You can check to see if there is any voltage present on them. When troubleshooting a system and trying to rule out the RCA's as the problem (this is only good to do if you KNOW the HU isn't the problem) what I like to do is: 1. Make sure system is off 2. Unplug all RCA's from all amps 3. Turn gain(s) all the way down on the amp(s) that you are going to test 4. Using a 3.5mm to RCA cable like this connect your phone/iPod/iPad/lap top to the amp using the cable and prepare (but don't play) a track with volume down 5. Turn your vehicle and your system on 6. Play a track. Gradually increase volume as needed to obtain a comfortable listening level If you do that and you have no problems, that tells you that the problem is in your signal, either from the source unit or the cables them selves Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire

chris j m
few updates , I have ordered one of those rca things . I checked all the wires , no pinches or anything , good soldered connections. checked the rca's with a multimeter, I have re done the ground from the back battery plus added another solid ground to the chassis as well . heres the weird thing , I flicked the mode switch from single to master , and it works normally straight away . when I switch back to single mode the bass still wont play for at least ten minutes ? im starting to think somethings gone wrong with the amp . what do you guys think ? thanks
Hifonics
Keep it on master and enjoy your bass? rockFord_Expedition
Something is obviously wrong with your amp if flipping that switch fixes your problem. Do you have a buddy that has an amp you can drop in just for troubleshooting?
