mrazandrewm
Got it. My max port velocity is 26 m/sec with 0.9998 Ft^3 tuned to 30.81 Hz on 1500w RMS. Is that good? Also, I have my port now firing to the side (towards the third door in a extended cab truck). Will that increase my tuning frequency a bit? There'll probably be 2-6 inches between the port mouth and third door. brent379
That should be alright! And it firing off the wall shouldn't increase your tuning frequency. I would just think it would be no different then facing the subs and port back in the trunk of a car.
mrazandrewm
Cool. Looks like I got it! Thanks! mrazandrewm
I have a choice to make between two different designs. Same net volume after port and sub displacement (1.01 Ft^3), and same tuning frequency (33 Hz). Here's the link. Triticum Agricolam
I took a look at your enclosures. I would probably go with option #1 just because firing to the side seems to work a little better in trucks. Probably not much difference between them though. mrazandrewm
Cool! Thanks! So loading off the side won't affect the tuning or anything? Triticum Agricolam
Everything affects tuning in some way, no matter what you do. As long as there is at least 3" of space between the end of your box and the door or C-pillar or whatever you should be fine. mrazandrewm
Thank you Triticum! This will be my first time building a subwoofer enclosure so I'll post progress pics and questions if needed.
