YukonDCXL
I am upgrading the battery under my hood to an xs power and their site say this vehicle calls for a d4800... Do you guys think I could or should fit a bigger one or just go with that?
Karkov
If you reuse the factory terminal thing then yes, get a D4800 as it will be a direct bolt in application. The factory terminal thing is a big metal and plastic bracket. Hard to explain but please go look at it for yourself. If you cut your factory wires as to put them into aftermarket terminals mounted on an aftermarket battery then you can EASILY fit a D3400 or you can fit a D3100 but it is a VERY tight fit...BUT it has been done, just need to loosen the coolant tank to fit it in and it's a squeeze. I have a 2007 Tahoe and bought the D4800. Used it for a bit, just chopped my wire and use a D3400. Then when I saw I could fit a D3100 I tried that as well. I now use the D4800 but with aftermarket terminals. This post is 100% accurate Actually, I will find a pic. of the factory terminal thing so you can get an idea 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. YukonDCXL
Yep I have already cut that off and I am currently using rockford terminals but will be happy to use skyhigh or anything. I dont have the cash now for another 3100 but how much better is a 3400 compared to a 4800 as far a system performance goes?

Karkov
Good choice. 3400 is easy to fit and is an awesome battery IMO. By all means use the Rockford terminals, they are awesome man. I didn't know you had already cut that thing off. =) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
