Using Top Posts with the Big 3

Recommended Posts

I'm going to do the big 3 next week and I had aquestion about my battery. It's a Optima Yellow Top with Top and Side Posts. Since my Side post Extender doesn't have the room for me to add another wire lug, Can I buy a set of Top Posts and use those for the Positive and Negative cables?

Thanks in Advance

I don't see why not. I have been running my battery under the hood using all 4 posts and have never had any issues. They should tie together on the inside

hope you read this, but the yellow top side post isn't meant for heavy audio current.

it's attached internally by a very very thin piece of led. they have been known to fail.

if you are running heavy gear (1500w up) i would use the side posts for your cars electrical, and use the top posts for your audio wires.

i owned a yellow top 2 years ago, bought it for like $40 it was better then my Walmart special but ehh.

do your self a favor and get the heavy load wire on the top posts, and get a good charge on that battery at least once a month. it should last a long time.

for $45 bucks it's worth getting some 6/0g battery terms. just pick a brand and go.

i noticed i had .3 less drop in voltage when i switched from what you have strange to my toolmaker terminals.

fuck the plating. look at what the main metal used is. you could buy unicorn blood plated terminals but if its just covering up dog shit, whats the point

I suppose that is possible but I don't like the TM top post aluminum block connectors. Aluminum doesn't like to bend like that and I can't see it making a good connection.

Just my opinion.
