d-nice88 Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 ok so im adding an extra batt in the trunk for a lil more power for my system. i wanted to know if i can put an xs power d1200 in the trunk and run it in parallel with the xs power d3400 under the hood with out any problems the d3400 is about a year old still holding a good charge nothing wrong with it keepin it charged up and i got a mechman 250 h/o alt as well big 3 all that fun stuff. ill be running about 2500 watts rms
noobslayer77 Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 i have mine run in parallel. d3400 up front and xp3000 in back. i havent had any issues. 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 2 13w7s skar 3500 cnf mids (soon) xs batteries
d-nice88 Posted January 2, 2015 Author Report Posted January 2, 2015 cool beans man i dont wanna spend the 270 on another d3400 i just wanna spend 206 lol tryna save a buck
noobslayer77 Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 yea i hear ya. with that alt im sure you dont need a d3400 or anything like an xp3000 with 120 beastly amp hours. im only running 1200 watts! lololol. but i like overkill and my alt, while a 250 amp, is not dc mech or singer, and doesnt do good idle voltage... my voltage while driving tho won't dip below 14. 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 2 13w7s skar 3500 cnf mids (soon) xs batteries
Guest Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 While saving a buck and moving ahead with your project seems like a great idea right now let me tell you that down the road you will wish you ha stuck with identical batts. What if you decide to add two more? then are you going to run 4 identical batts with one that is not? What about the dangers of the batteries degrading eachother quickly over time? Youre talking about $50 more here to do it correct, if that much is breaking you then my bad.
noobslayer77 Posted January 2, 2015 Report Posted January 2, 2015 does using different batteries, even if they are all agm, degrade them over time because each can supply a different amount of power? Am i going to run into problems using the 3400 and xp3000 down the road? (don't mean to thread jack, just curious about what causes the degradation) 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited 2 13w7s skar 3500 cnf mids (soon) xs batteries
