bmxkid92
I haven't been on in a good while. Been busy with personal stuff. but I figured I'd get on and share my recent dealing with my subs. Now I loved my subs. best bang for your buck subs I have owned. Had them in a 4th order doing work. metered 139.7 at 48hz sealed on dash. box wasn't sealed off from trunk either. That score was on an American Bass vfl 100.1. Also a great amp. Any how. I just put half down on a biggg upgrade from what I was currently running. A D1 Team FI 18 and box. Should be in the trunk next week. Will be on 5-8k daily depending on what my electrical situation looks like here soon. I decided to tear one sub apart which is something I've never done before. But by what I've seen online the coils look absolutely mint. was told it could be a saulder problem. Hell idk I am by far no expert. I pop tested both subs & also checked them with a dmm. but here are some pics. \

bmxkid92
if there was a question. itd probably be what would cause a saulder to fail if that was the issue at hand
Guest
but here are some pics. Is your rear battery grounded to the rear deck where the 6x9s go? I see a wire coming off the (-) and going up...

bmxkid92
wire too long have you considered maybe you clipped the subs to death? how'd you tune your amp? amp was dd1 so signal was clean. do i need that extra ground though? ive heard numerous people say that it isnt necessary if i have a run from the front but im always learning new stuff. bmxkid92
and subs never really got hot id only play for about 10 minutes time on the way to work and home. if they got the glue smell id cut it off for awhile and that would be it
brent379
not trying to thread jack, but i second the question on the extra ground wire. is it necassary to ground the back batt to the chassis if you have the big 3 done under the hood and you have a run of both pos and neg going to the back batt?
