GeorgeK Posted January 14, 2015 Report Share Posted January 14, 2015 ok so i was all hell bent on doing 2 6" aero ports for my 2 HDC4 12's but i was tweeking some numbers on the torres tuning calculator and gave up on aero so this is what i came up with for slot port driver side, i think a slot would be easier. im a newb at building boxs so this makes more sence to me then figureing aero's. box 16H x 36W x 27D port 14.5H x 5 W x 32L port area = 72.5 net volume = 5.23 "when i add some bracing itll be around 5 cubes give or take" tuned to 31.09Hz im going to use birch 3/4 in and double baffle now it says Physical port length is 24.75 how does that work? its going to go 20" in and 11.25 left against back wall, that makes 32 inches but the physical port length says 24.75 how does that work?? and does this box look good to you guys? i cant find out how to post a pic on here to make it easier. and btw amp is a AQ3500, getting a second AQ3500 soon and electrical is upgraded. this is going to be for a daily driver ill make another box for spl but gotta see if i can build this one first lol. any ideas would be appreciated. thnx guys. 2 Team Fi 12's2 SQ 3500's (Strapped @ 2ohm)Singer 320amp 6 phase alternator1 xs d4800 (hood)2 xs d3 100 (trunk) 1 Northstar 400 (trunk)KN Cai Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ChevyBoy95 Posted January 14, 2015 Report Share Posted January 14, 2015 I usually plot into torres, but then make my own cut out dimensions by doing sketch up and what not, but hopefully this answers your question. The only thing you should worry about is your port length, which is measured from the center of the slot port, as long as that is right, you are good. Don't worry about what physical port length says. Here is what the box will look like if you havent modeled it up yet.
