rockFord_Expedition's Rebuild (Old School RF, SMD/D'Amore, CE Auto Electric, DC Power, XS Power, SHCA) lots of pics inside

Here it is, heat shrink applied, and it is my rear frame ground.

Before you ask why only 1 run, well it is SHCA 2/0 (4/0) cable and I'm only running a single 270A alt and less than 2k RMS that's including mids and highs.

After the first coat of spray on electrical tape to prevent corrosion of the bare copper lug.

Moving on to the enclosure. Don't expect much, it's solid but not too pretty, I was building this while I was caring for my mom 24/7 before she passed and more often than not I would have to stop right in the middle of a step to take care of one thing or another.

Well, the router got me. BUT it was only the wrench while changing bits. I'll call myself lucky. I guess no build is complete until you've shed blood right?

Meh, that's nothin. Lick the blood off and get back to work! Lol. Nice work. What kind of bolts and nuts did you use for the ground, they look different than normal. Maybe it's just my eyes. Keep up the good work.

I found someone to lick it off for me lol. Had no idea he was there until I seen the pic.

The bolt is actually a ground stud that came with an old RF amp kit. RFK1D I believe.

Laying some primer down on the port pieces. I masked off the area that will have glue applied. I figured doing it this way was easier than painting it afterwards.

Centers marked for sub cut outs

If you don't drill this pilot hole exactly where you want it, your cut out will be off center so I was a little extra meticulous on this part.

Since it's all 1" MDF, i thought a 1/2" roundover would be appropriate

Sub fits pretty good

I added an extra baffle for 2 reasons. 1 is I really like the countersunk look and the other is that it allows me to lay something flat across the top without damaging the subs since these are my daily rides.

Edit: And this bottom pic is just a dry assembly, hence the pieces not lining up right. I was just checking for fitment of the subs and checking things out. Yes, that is 3 layers of 1" MDF for the top of the box.

A little more work on the port pieces. Painting, clear coat, and assembly. Paint looks a little wet but I assure you it's dry.
