Jeff White Posted February 16, 2015 Report Posted February 16, 2015 Does anyone know where I could possibly find this info? My level adjust broke and when I turn it it does nothing. I was adjusting it the other day and the speakers popped a couple of times now I get almost no sound. I'm assuming that's the issue since it was working prior to adjusting it. Does anyone know the ohm rating on these things? Hifonics won't tell me anything, just tell me to send it to a repair place. It's a Brutus BXI2010D 2000W. The setting go from .2v to 6v. My pre-amps are 2v out. Could i just solder in a resistor to achieve the 2v setting I want?

Thus being the cause of "i get almost no sound" after hearing pops while adjusting your gain? Jeff White Posted February 16, 2015 Author Report Posted February 16, 2015 I didn't, but as I rotate the knob back and forth if I hit a sweet spot, sound comes out like normal. The problem is once bass hits and vibrates everything I lose my sweet spot. I will check that out though and thank you for the suggestion.

Jeff White Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 Sorry it took so long to get back to you, weather has made life insane. It does not go into protect mode when I hit the sweet spot, it sounds great. Once I turn up the volume on the headunit and get the bass pumping it will eventually lose the sweet spot. I have it pulled out now. Going to un-solder the other good one that looks to be the same size so I can test the ohms value on it and hopefully find something to replace it. One thing I'm concerned about is the voltage rating too. Not sure how to find that out. I know it's a cheap amp, but it pushes my subs nicely. Hate to throw it away if this is something fixable.
reedal Posted February 25, 2015 Report Posted February 25, 2015 I think unless you physically watch that potentiometer move when the bass plays, it's probably not that. Did you check your continuity to ground for the amp?
