Burning DC Level 3

On the suspect amp.

When you are experiencing the burning smell, play a loud test tone.

Set a DMM on VDC and measure the Amps output to the subs.

The reading should be close to zero or realistically in the mV range.

If you're reading substantial DC voltage the your amp is faulty and applying a DC offset to the subs. Similar to clipping.

I would suspect it similar to this.

Not sure I remember the details you mentioned, what's the box tuned to?

Playing a lot below tuning frequency?

Definitely will try that next day off. Box is tuned low, 30 hz. I play alot of tech, rittz, kendrick etc. There are some songs with deep low notes. The previous amp did not have a subsonic filter, whereas the t1500 has the option to use one set at 28hz. I do have it on. I might try turning it off and see if I get the same smell. My guess though is faulty amp. That amp had an odd smell from day one. I kept thinking it was possibly the sub but it was always the amp metal that gave off the smell. It went away with time which made me assume it might of been something along the lines of excess adhesive burning off (I don't know where that would happen on an amp but it seemed like the only practical issue).
