chad190 Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 I have a Soundqubed 2200 on 2 HDS312s at 1 ohm. I currently have a stock 110 amp alt and an O'Rileys 34/78 agm(55ah) under the hood and an xs power d3100(110ah) and kinetik hc2400(128ah) in the trunk. How big of an alternator would I need to keep these batteries topped off and electrical happy without having to charge batteries at night. Is the 110 amp alt big enough to do this? 2006 Monte Carlo Pioneer DEH-80PRS 2 SSA ZCON 12's 5 Cube Box tuned to 32 Hz Soundqubed 3500.1 PAC LC-1 Singer 320 Amp Alt XS D3100 & Kinetik HC2400 in trunk Super Start AGM Under Hood 80ft+ Sky High 1/0 40 ft^3 120mil sky high deadener Soundqubed Pro Audio 6.5" mids Soundqubed Super Tweeters Alpine 1" Tweeters Alpine MRP-F300
aculous Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 test your amperage draw and voltage drop. That will give you what size alternator you need and how many you need. or use this http://www.rapidtables.com/calc/electric/watt-volt-amp-calculator.htm to get in the ballpark and size your alt from there. A digital multimeter will be able to tell you that. Wouldn't be bad to do a test drive with one hooked up as well and just monitor your situation on music. There has been a lot of good discussion on electrical in the CE Electric section on this forum. Check out a couple posts. You will answer your own question quickly.
