What I mean is, what is it going to give you that you don't already know or see or feel by driving the vehicle, or that a navigation unit wouldn't already give you? What about a tablet that you can run an obdII module with and get the information that way. I think that can be done anyway. If retaining the oem unit is that important why not just get a good processor and leave the oem unit in and run the processor from it and to the amps? Just questions and suggestions.
