BigManAC
iirrc if in a SUV you would want the port to be firing on the rear door. I know a lot of people love 4th orders and from what ive seen they do great on music, you get both the highs and lows. The box for 2 18's in a 4th is going to be big even with a 1:2 ratio. nighthawk
can i fit a 4th order with the space i have?
SteveOrtiz1985
If you figure 2.5 cubes per 18" in a 2:1 ratio that's 15 cubes plus displacement. Optimally you need about 22 gross cubes for a 4th order. What are your dimensions?
nighthawk
50in(wide) 49in(from back seat to the back of the doors) (its going in a 1993 astro lt awd) and i would really like to keep it under 32in tall to see out my back windows but if it needs to be taller fuck it.. CleanSierra
Don't do a 4th order bandpass. You'll get more output from a standard ported box. Subs up, port back will be fine for that vehicle. mrd6
^Agreed. Also if you are more interested in musical output and only need to play down to the mid to high 20s you don't need to tune super low. 32-34hz would be fine.
