ProMaxx316
Ok first off I'm not bashing or anything. Just trying to trouble shoot. 1994 Ford explorer. 4.0 Install alt, make sure everything tight and wires and connections are going where they have to go. Everything is nice and smooth like it should be. In summer time I have odd thing number 1. After rechecking everything and finding no real problem, with only a theory that a/c compressor might be causing issue, I disconnect a/c and continue on. Fast forward to this past monday. Cruising home. I enter my drive way, put truck in reverse to square up my truck put in park and noticed the factory voltage gauge way down. Factory battery light on, and the mechman avbm showing 12.5ish and slowly creeping down as I let the truck run. Again I check connections (dark outside) check plugs and pins in plugs. And had nothing. Call mechman with full thought that alt is dead. Fast pick up on phone and got me rga number. I bring tools from work to get ready to take alt out on sunday and decided to start the truck. Low and behold 14.6 like nothing. So anybody have any ideas what to look into before I send alt out. I dont wanna waste mechmans time checking out a alt with no problems when it could be a problem on my end. Thanks for any help in advance. Quote If it's worth building, it's worth over building.
