i4getlots Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 According to the website specs on the subwoofers they are dual 4 ohm subs? Or dual 4 ohm voice coils? I assume 4 ohm dvc. That being said Normally if you wire dvc subs you go from one coil to another on the same sub. The VIM set up was one coil of one sub to another coil but on a different sub. So maybe I'm in the wrong? So it's wired in series connecting the two subs and leave the enclosure through one terminal. The amp itself only has one set of speaker outputs apparently it's a "1 channel " amp. So how does this initial set up work? If they are 4ohm dvc wired in series to one another? Isn't wiring two 4 ohm voice coils In series an 8ohm load? Coming from two subs? Wouldn't that be a 16ohm load? I'm confused by this set up. Bass package link http://www.vmaudio.com/?product=srd10sbs
Kerry95 Posted March 8, 2015 Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ok i got a little bit confused reading this lol but where you said "dual 4 ohm subs" and "dual 4 ohm voice coils" that's the same thing, but basically it would look like this. 1998 Holden VS Statesman Kenwood KDC-U556BT Cadence CS2.65K Pioneer GM-D9601 Alpine SWS-10D4 KnuKonceptz 0 Gauge Response 4 Gauge Execution Audio 60.4
i4getlots Posted March 8, 2015 Author Report Posted March 8, 2015 Ok that's how the wiring was. But how do you get the 4ohm load to the amp? Isnt that series wiring and shouldn't that be a 16ohm load? I'm just trying to understand this better. Thank you for the quick reply
