Finalized HD15 Enclosure

Ok so i should be starting the enclosure this weekend, and have made a probably 50 different draw ups for this. Well sort of draw ups. I have recalced the box over and over just playing around with numbers on paper and comparing to my enclosure calculator.

This is what i have came up with that is to my liking. Again im looking at about 2500-3k(probably about 1500-1700 after rise and voltage drop) and will probably end up getting more power im sure lol. Im always changing something.

Displacements-
Sub Dp - .15
7.5" Custom Sono Aero X 17" -.43(2"s will be external so inside displace will be .39)
Vertical 2x4 @ 14.5 - .044 ea(There will be 2 top to bottom = .088)
Lateral 2x4 @ 20.5 - .062 ea (There will be 2 Front to back = .124)
45's @ 2"L x .75d x 14.5h =0.23 ea (There will be 4 in each corner to round it a little = .092)

The reason i have a 7.5 Sonotube is because some of them are actually only 7.5 and some are as big as 8.5. Im going to take a tape measure and hunt for a 7.5 because that fits what i want lol.

The 36hz tuning is a little different for me, i usually go about 40hz to try and increase meter scores alittle, but i wanted to be able to play a little lower then usual because im only gonna possibly compete for fun on rare occasions with this build so i played with the numbers to drop the tuning a couple of hz from my norm.

Your calculations are correct, Port clearance and port area remain two things to look at.

Yea i did my best with the clearance. I think i was offer by like .25 or .5 from the "rule of thumb" being the diameter of the port. Port Area i think im pretty good there, im like right at 11 square inches per cube, seeing its aero's i really think that will be ok. Ive seen people use less before with the same size boxes lol.

I have it built now, made a few adjustments and my friend convinced me to do the main baffle(sub and port baffle) different. I added a extra half 3/4 inch baffle where the port is and sanded it to give it flare, it kind of looks like its for a changeable port but its not. It turned out pretty good, and looks good. i just need some black paint to spray it lol....
