jamesbombed Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 So I just got a new Fi q12 d2 all the same options as my old one, wired it at 2ohms series/parallel and running it with 1 soundqubed 2200d to break it in (soon to be 2 of them strapped) but the new one seems to flex way more almost like its getting alot more power than the old one. Is this a normal thing with old and new subs or is there something wrong?
Joe X Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 Start by using a DMM to measure individual coils, etc and then check all your wiring, if all checks out, post a sketch of your box.
jamesbombed Posted April 6, 2015 Author Report Posted April 6, 2015 nothings wrong with the subs, just found out its my stupid qlogic sealed box, all the glue cracked in like a day and a half causing huge airleaks and sounded like shit. kind of a relief thats all it was though lol. Just silicone caulked all the edges thoroughly and gonna let it dry for a day, hopefully that will hold
Joe X Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 That would make sense for a separate chambers box,
jamesbombed Posted April 6, 2015 Author Report Posted April 6, 2015 yeah it started out almost unnoticeable except when looking right at it, then it started to sound like crap and was worried I damaged a sub. Then i tested them one at a time and certain notes seemed to sound fine but low notes didnt even sound like bass just air moving so i took the subs out and sure enough theres huge cracks in the glue on both sides, probably started out just one side and slowly ripped the whole box apart. stupid chinese glue, hopefully the silicone will hold cause it will flex without cracking
Joe X Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Those enclosures are made for best buy drivers.
