03' Trailblazer - Dayton/Pioneer Build

Recommended Posts

Have everything cut for the box, final displacements is 5.6ft^3 @ 29hz dead. Why didn't anyone tell me birch was so dope? 1/3 the weight of MDF, cuts beautifully, and basically costs the same. Just waiting on Wolfcraft 90 degree clamps to arrive, i don't trust harbor freight ones with anything this big.

Also managed to sweep the raw uncorrected response of my cabin. Sub off, 70hz butterworth -48dB. Not sure on the input power, probably around 20w RMS each channel. I plan to re-tune my mic/software and go for a full power sweep, but currently this is what i'm working with. No smoothing. Shouldn't be too difficult to get it nearly flat, just need to switch over to the 32 band plugin for the minidsp.

Don't trust a shop but you personally just smoked two decks, makes sense.

When you try and clean up your wiring, and it STILL looks like a bowl of spaghetti. Looking forward to redoing this, going to be adding a second 8604 and moving the bass amp out of there. Possibly to its own rack, or in the floor storage. Before that can happen though, i've gotta send a few $$$'s to Singer.

Also, making some headway on the box. Weather and my schedule mean that as of recently i've had like 3 hours a week to work on it, most of which has been watching glue try.

Garbage mic, but you get the idea. IMO it sounds pretty good, especially for a TB.

Gotta have power to make power. D3400 is in and kicking the shit out of the Everstart MAXX that was there before. Used to get 2v of voltage drop on a full tilt 40hz note, now that's down to about .3v. Gonna grab a box from work today and see if i can mount a D3100 somewhere. After that, time to really start making some noise.

Making more headway on the box.

A friend dropped off an old 105ah bass pro marine deep cycle. If my Genius charger can desulfinate and repair it, i might grab another one.

I should add that i'm not going to be putting a roundover on the port, but instead a small bevel for looks. Reason being that with my Ultimax, even if i threw all the power at it that the coil could handle, it'd still be WELL below 15m/s peak on the port velocity and personally if it's below 20m/s i wouldn't even bother, as chuffing won't be an issue, so considering the box will be loading against the hatch (3" away), any small amount of port noise should be completely inaudible.

i need an alt for my 03 how much was the singer?....... is yours the 4.2 straight 6 also? i have a 3400 upfront and a d5100r in the rear of mine soon to be another 5100r

Just south of $500 shipped, expect to pay a bit more for a singer than a mechman or DC when it comes to our alternators. Zero corner cutting with a Singer, had to learn that about other brands the hard way. Atlas4200 here as well, yup. Is your D5100R inside the vehicle or mounted under it? I'm currently trying to figure out way to mount 2 D3100's behind by bumper.
