Tub Asko
Just recently while driving/bumping, my zx2500.1 will cut off and cut back on repeatedly. Like it's not getting enough voltage, but it's getting over 14 v while driving. Funny thing is if I reset my headunit or switch sources (cd to ipod vice versa) it stops. Is this something that can be easily fixed. My warranty is very close to expiring and I do plan on selling it so I want to get an idea of what might be the cause and if I should send it in. mrwigglezdj
double check them ohm load to the amp, mine was doing it and the ohms were a little low but enough to cut the amp into protect mode, does it do it at low vol or only when you turn it up? mrwigglezdj
thats odd, i know they have a protection circut that will put the amp into protect if the ohm load goes too low, (well my 850.4 does) but will operate fine at a low vol, turn it up and it will cut in and out, at higher vol... so like i said i would atleast check the ohm load and make sure you dont have a bad coil or sub gone bad Americas loudest work van2006 iasca heavyweight bassboxing champion at 150.4 db with 60second average TL8 memphis PR15s,12 memphis PR6.5's coax,4 memphis PR 1inch tweets
kryptonitewhite
I think as the coils heat, impedance rises... after 15-20 mins maybe enough to correct impedance problems? IB3 22"

tommyk90
Ditto on what tracy said. I had a hifonics amp that would cut out when I turned it up. It turned out that I had a bad amp ground. Regrounded it directly to some thick sheet metal (after sanding) and didn't have a problem.
