so with the mechman 370 and the voltage regulator with gauge, on 2004 silverado i get this message

I have it too with my 2003 Tahoe with a 270A six phase hairpin from singer. I believe it's because it charges at a higher voltage than OEM alts

But you also say yours is externally regulated and you have it at 15v? Try turning it down to like 14 even to see if it will clear it after a little bit. I can't do that with mine

ya i did that when i first got it and it has never gone away i just cant find anyone mentioning a way around it

Set it to 13.8 or around there. Then turn the engine off, disconnect the battery ground to clear the pcm of any fault codes, connect it back and see what that does

Another thing to do is throughly clean all stock grounds. That can cause the message to pop too, but seeing as both of ours came up after installing HO alts, it's more than likely the high voltage. My voltage sits at 14.9 idle no load, 14.6 full tilt idle.

so your charging yours high too, is urs for comps tho is that why or is yours daily too

No mines daily. But mine is internally regulated so I can't change it.

The reason this is happening is because your factory computer requires a stator tap. There's a wire in the factory harness that needs to see output in order for that service light to go out. Mechman should be able to help you with that.
