Silveradobasshead Posted August 12, 2015 Report Posted August 12, 2015 Hey guys, i have a zv4.12.d2 sundown sub woofer. im aiming for spl with this one not really sq. Goal is to get this sub to its full potential as best i can to wrecking mirrors and shaking things loose haha u know what i mean. lol but heres where im stuck. i have a ext cab silverado (i need all my seats) except for the middle rear seat i can do without. so i want to do a blow through and have the port come out of the middle seat ect. now upon research im seeing that 6th orders are pretty good for my goals. i want to do a 6th order series. but i cant find anything that can help me tune the box. all im finding is people are running 2:1? which means? and the back port is tuned higher then the front port? could someone shed some light on this for me. heres my sub spec if it helps: Fs: 33 HzRe: 3.6 ohmsQms: 5.74Qes: 0.45Qts: 0.42Cms: 0.07Mms: 339 gBL: 23.6Vas: 21.4 LSens: 84.1Le: 2.56RMS: 2,000 watts Xmax 35mm linear one way

Anyone who designs any kind of bandpass box using "ratios" is someone I would run away from IMHO. This is especially true for series tuned BP6s. In general I've found that there just a lot of really bad information out there on these style of enclosures. There is no way I'd try to design one of these without using model software and there are a lot of situations where they just aren't going to work. I suggest you do your own research, if you have any specific questions don't hesitate to post them here.
